Two weeks ago, on a bright Wednesday morning in Valgeranna, Estonia, more than 300 women from 25 countries were getting ready for the parade to Pärnu. Flags were tied to bikes, engines waited in silence — and then, with a joyful roar, the whole field came alive. But maybe I should start at the beginning, now that I’m back home and can finally tell the story properly.
By Monday evening, most WIMA women had arrived, settled into tents or rooms, and gathered for the Opening Dinner. Mihaela, our international president, invited the national presidents on stage, introduced them, and officially opened the rally.
Tuesday took us into Soomaa National Park for a bog walk — or, for those who preferred wheels over boots, a motorcycle ride. In the evening, a local folklore group performed at the Estonian Night, and under the guidance of a folk‑dance ensemble, everyone who felt like it got to join in. A perfect mix of culture, laughter, and slightly chaotic dance steps.
Wednesday was parade day. After the ride to Pärnu, local guides showed us around the city, and at Culture Club Tempel we joined a panel discussion with women active in the motorcycle scene, both locally and internationally. Completely unexpectedly, Estonian trial rider Keity Meier appeared in the city park — and treated us to an impressive demonstration of her skills. A traditional soup rounded off the visit before the evening shifted into our legendary Trash Night. (Yes, that one deserves its own post.)
Thursday mirrored Tuesday, just with a twist: instead of a bog walk, we travelled to Kihnu Island, and instead of Estonian Night, our Italian sisters presented WIMA 2027, which will take place in Tuscany at the end of September.
On Friday, those with energy left joined the Treasure Hunt or a leather workshop, before the official part of the rally ended with the Farewell Dinner. Right as everyone gathered in the tent, the sky decided to express its sadness about our departure — and released a dramatic downpour. By Saturday morning, we all headed off in different directions again.
It was a wonderful week filled with old friends, new encounters, heartfelt conversations, and so much joy.
All of this was possible thanks to our sisters from WIMA Estonia, whose professional organization and warm spirit made the week unforgettable. A huge thank‑you to Estonia.
