WIMA Iran was formed in 2025 by Behnaz Shafiei, who tells us –
“Women and girls are not allowed to ride motorcycles in Iran, but this is not stopping us. We are joining hands and fighting for our rights. We use any motorcycle available.
I have my own motorcross track in Iran where other women come to learn and race. Every year riders and racers meet at my track. We host sessions and gatherings and training sessions. We have weekly meetings, gatherings. I am very transparent on social media
I plan to grow a team from my friends and many followers in Iran
I hope that WIMA membership will assist with my campaigning in Iran to give women the right to obtain a motorcycle license and to ride on the public roads.
This is a big movement and we will continue until we get our right to ride freely.”
