Ellen Pfeiffer Award recipient in 2023
This is the nomination that was submitted by WIMA France:
Margrit has been a member of WIMA for nearly 50 years and she was one of the founders of WIMA Switzerland, back in 1984. She was president of WIMA Switzerland from 1990-1996. Margrit is a distinguished motorcyclist who has travelled more than 600,000 km around Europe on a wide variety of bikes and participated in 37 international rallies starting with France in 1977, and including Japan, New Zealand and Curaçao. She organised three international rallies in Switzerland in 1980, 1984 and 1991 and several smaller events. Together with Chantal Hertrich, she also organised several ‘Drei Länder’ (or three-country) meetings between WIMA Switzerland, WIMA France and WIMA Germany in the Alsace region. Margrit was a close friend of Ellen Pfeiffer’s and together with two other Swiss women, rode to Frankfurt for Ellen’s funeral.
