About WIMA Romania
Founded in 2017, WIMA Romania now boasts over 120 active members. Our mission is to create an inspirational environment for women who share a passion for motorcycling, fostering a strong community of long-distance, commuting, day-to-day, and weekend riders.
Our Mission
Being part of WIMA Romania is about learning to give back and grow. We actively promote motorcycling as a lifestyle and ride together on various occasions, offering enriching and inspiring experiences. Our goal is to organise as many trips and events as possible to enhance the spirit among female riders.
Community Activities
We are one of the most active communities in the Romanian motorcycle ecosystem. Our activities include:
- Annual rallies: Two annual rallies to gather WIMA members from across the country
- Regular events: Defensive riding, enduro, and mechanic courses
- Partnerships: Collaborations with moto equipment stores and moto services offering discounts to members
- Media presence: Featuring women with inspiring stories of travel and unique experiences
- Charity work: Blood donation campaigns and bi-annual equipment donation drives
- Advocacy: Supporting legislative changes related to motorcycling.
Why we joined WIMA
We started as a small group of lady riders who enjoyed being together. Our desire to connect with an international community that inspires and supports us led us to join WIMA International. It makes us feel stronger and more connected. ‘A solo woman rider has courage, but riding with a group builds confidence.’
Special Achievements
- Largest women-only motorcycle association: Legally registered association/ club in Romania
- Pioneer in exhibitions: First motorcycle association with a dedicated booth at the largest motorcycle fair in Romania (SMAEB) • National parades: Organised the first national women-only motorcycle parade
- Pink parade: Yearly charity parade for breast cancer prevention
- Supporter of WRWR: Exclusive supporter of WRWR Romania
- Safety Campaigns: Partnered with other motorcycle clubs for the ‘Safety on 2 Wheels’ nation wide campaign
- Started Women Motorcyclist’s Day in Romania as a celebration and recognition of women riders
- Romanian Traditional Blouse Day celebrated on the motorbike
- International rally 2024: 257 participants from 20 countries.
National Logo and Motto
Logo: We believe that our logo reflects femininity, openness, progress, passion, and safety in women’s motorcycling.
Motto and Campaigns: We promote a family atmosphere with several campaigns and slogans: #wearefamily, #sinoisuntemintrafic (we are also present in traffic)
