About WIMA Denmark

WIMA Denmark was founded in June 2021 by President Cindie Johannesson and Vice President Karin Sjøberg, with Mona Rygaard supporting from the sidelines as a mentor, guide, and source of encouragement. From the very beginning, our goal has been to create an inclusive community for women who love riding motorcycles – whether they ride solo or are part of a club.

With an average of around 50 members spread across the country and an age range from under 30 to over 70, we are a diverse community where all women on two wheels are welcome. Our board consists of five members who ensure exciting activities throughout the year. We meet for events such as the WIMA weekend, cake gatherings, communal dinners, parties, and motorcycle rallies. We compete in the Fidus Championship for our challenge trophy, and our kilometer counter tracks who rides the most.

For some of our members, WIMA Denmark is their primary club, while others see us as a supplement to an existing club or simply a friendly community they occasionally take part in. We also offer various merchandise, including shirts, patches, and back patches, so our members can proudly display their affiliation.

Wherever we go, WIMA Denmark sparks admiration and interest – from both women and men. We are a strong community where camaraderie, the joy of riding, and mutual support are at the heart of everything we do.

Henriette Rungvalt, President from 2025.

I started my motorcycling life as a passenger on the back seat until I got my motorcycle license in 2006. Since then, I have enjoyed many wonderful experiences on two wheels together with good friends and my husband – both in Denmark and abroad. Today, I ride a Kawasaki Vulcan 650 S, which I absolutely love.

I have been a member of WIMA since 2024, and I am proud to be part of a community where women support each other and share the joy of motorcycling.

As President of WIMA Denmark, I dream of creating a strong and inclusive community where both new and experienced female riders feel welcome. I wish to continue the good spirit that has always characterized WIMA, while also helping the organization grow with new activities, collaborations, and shared experiences.
I also look forward to strengthening our connections both nationally and internationally and to working closely with WIMA International, so we can remain an active part of the global network of women motorcyclists.

Susanne Vestergaard Christensen, Vice-President from 2025

I was born in 1966. My love for motorcycles started almost from childhood, under the great influence of my father and my uncle’s passion. So motorcycles has always been a central part of my life
First in my younger days as a backseat passenger until I finally got my own motorcycle with sidecar taking my boys on vacation and now I’ve a solo.

I’ve been a member of WIMA Denmark almost from the beginning and I’ve many amazing moments. My vision for WIMA Denmark is to create a strong network for women built on warm friendships, where we lift each other up, support and help locally and across the country.

Cindie Johannesson, President 2021 – 2025

I was introduced to the motorcycle lifestyle at the age of 16 and was immediately captivated by life on two wheels. Since 2008, I have been riding my own motorcycle and have experienced firsthand how the shared passion for riding creates strong bonds between people.

I co-founded WIMA Denmark because I am passionate about the community and the core idea that we should support and help each other whenever we can. For me, it’s not just about riding motorcycles – it’s about the adventures, the experiences, and the strong connections we build along the way.

My goal with WIMA Denmark is to give members the opportunity to share the joy of motorcycling, embark on adventures together, and create a community where we support each other both on and off the road. Without our amazing board, none of this would be possible – together, we make a difference and build a strong community.

For me, WIMA is my club – a place where friendships are formed, where we inspire each other, and where we make a difference together.
