WIMA Netherlands members have entrusted me to take on the role. of their National President after my predecessor, Sylavana Kroese, unfortunately had to step back early from the role.
In 2016, I joined WIMA NL and two years later, I was asked to join the board as secretary. Until March of this year, I always enjoyed working with Sandra as National Present, until Sandra decided, after eight years as chair, that she wanted to free up time for other important matters in her personal life.
The past few years as a (board) member of WIMA have given me many wonderful experiences. Especially weekends out on motorbikes with “the girls” and fun evenings chatting and singing around the campfire or playing a game of “30 Seconds” are truly enjoyable.
Being part of an international motorcycle club naturally has an added charm because we get to meet even more women who are crazy about motorbikes. How fantastic it is that every year a WIMA country opens its doors to other WIMA divisions to experience motorcycling and everything related to it.
Now, I’m a little ashamed to admit that I’m still a true “rally virgin”. My first rally was supposed to be the Dutch one (in 2021), but we all know how that turned out… But it hasn’t happened yet, mainly because the rally often take place in the middle of the summer holidays, and I often can’t get time off work. But in 2025, it will finally happen. My first rally!
I’m looking forward to being a part of it and meeting you in Germany!
Lisette Strubbe – National President
