Frances Popley wrote this about the rally in the 1980 WIMA Pearl Booklet.
It was organised by an instructor from Pihtipudas who rejoiced in the name of Matti Viro. Matti was no ordinary teacher; in addition to teaching the more traditional school subjects, he also instructed his pupils in motorcycle riding. He has turned the rough part of his garden into a training track and bought eight tons of Pannonias, complete and in bits which he sells very cheaply to his young disciples. All he asks of them is that they should ride at least 35,000 kms per year. Two of his star pupils, Tuula and Raila (Rinne), have for some years now held the top places in the Pfadfinder Pokal (Boy Scout Cup) organised by Das Motorrad. In 1972 Raila won a zippy Zundapp 125: she promptly sold the machine and remained faithful to her Pannonia!
Tiia Riihiluoma from WIMA Finland relates that there were ten participants at this rally according to the Ladies Bike Club history book. (The rally was held here several years before a WIMA division was formed in Finland).
