Honouring the Trail: WIMA Romania and Via Transilvanica

WIMA Romania has officially become part of the Via Transilvanica community, celebrating this moment with the inauguration of a symbolic milestone on May 16th, 2026. Nearly 50 women motorcyclists from across the country meet to mark this moment.

Through the collective effort of our members, WIMA Romania is now an official supporter of “the road that unites”, standing alongside the wider family of “people of the trail” who help protect and uplift Romania’s most ambitious long‑distance hiking route.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of the milestone created by Bulgarian artist Ivan Ivanov — a pop‑art stone sculpture featuring a stylized bra, symbolizing freedom, feminine autonomy, and equality. Though not originally designed for WIMA, our members embraced it as a powerful symbol of the courage, solidarity, and identity that define women motorcyclists worldwide.

The milestone also connects naturally with our annual Pink Ride campaign each October, dedicated to breast cancer awareness and women’s health. It now stands not only as an artistic landmark, but as a reminder of resilience, prevention, and the strength of women everywhere.
