Back in November, we shared the exciting news about Gulafshan Tariq, our national WIMA President for Pakistan, and her ambitious plan to ride from London all the way to Pakistan. Now her journey is well underway: after leaving London, she has already carved her way across France and Switzerland and is currently riding through Italy. Next up is a ferry to Greece, followed by the road toward Istanbul.
Her dream route would take her through Iran — either directly or via Afghanistan — all the way to Pakistan. But with the ongoing instability in the region, that plan remains uncertain. If conditions improve, she still hopes to follow her original path through Iran. She had also considered a bold alternative: riding through the Middle East to Oman and shipping her bike to Karachi. For now, that option isn’t feasible.
If none of these routes open up, she may continue from Türkiye to Georgia, store her motorcycle there for a few months, fly to Karachi, and complete the final stretch to Lahore on another bike.
We’re following her journey with excitement — and keeping our fingers crossed that she can complete this incredible adventure safely and in true WIMA spirit.
