Åsa will be designing and developing our new website in time for our 75th anniversary celebrations in the summer of 2025, she says of her new role –
Motorcycling and the motorcycling community have always been a great part of my life. During my 25+ years of riding and 20 years as a member of WIMA, I have made the most wonderful friends, from all walks of life and from all over the world. This is why WIMA is so important to me and why I chose to return to the WIMA Officers team and to continue contributing to the organization in the very hands-on way of building a new website. A website that will reflect our rich past as well as our present activities.
My riding experience is quite diverse – I have done a bit of everything: gravel, track and road – but it is travelling and exploring I love the most. Both locally, in Spain, where I reside now and in Sweden where I grew up, I go out on my own just to see where the road takes me. I’ve also spent time travelling extensively in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. At the longest, I lived 9 months on my motorbike and in my tent. I then experienced the summer rainstorms in Wales, a heatwave in Hungary, autumn storms in Scotland and the freezing winter in England, luckily by then I had I found a housesitting possibility (through WIMA friendship). After this I returned to Spain and settled permanently in Catalonia. I ride a red BMW F650GS from 2007 and a blue F650GS from 2002. The blue bike is my favourite.
